The first caption I have ever posted on Open TG Captions, and to this day one I am really fond of and attached to :)
I plan to progressively post on this blog all my old captions along with new ones, and I will consider maybe adjusting them a little. I hope you'll enjoy looking at my evolution :)

The guy snorted and leaned on the car with an annoyed look on his face.

The girl couldn't help but feel bad about it. She was well aware that they were running late for their lunch.

Nonetheless her attention immediately shifted to the smartphone she was holding and to its camera.

She adjusted her hair and smiled, looking the best she could to take a gorgeous pic.

<<Why don’t you crack a smile and join me just for this one?>> she chirped.

<<Would you please just hurry up?! We are supposed to be there at two!>>

<<Sure. Just give me a sec. I have to put a filter on this one.>>

<<I'm leaving you here now!>> uttered the guy in frustration heading swiftly down the road.

<<Wait! Wait for me! Why do you have to act like this?>>

The girl quickly gathered her stuff, got off the car and chased after her sweetheart, constantly shifting her attention between him and her phone where she was adjusting the selfie she just took. She uploaded the pic, tucked the phone in her purse and hurried to catch up with the guy, annoyed by the whole situation. Why did they have to always argue like that? Sometimes she really hated how her fiancée had changed, but most of the time she hated herself. She hated what she had become.

When the Role Reverser hit a few weeks earlier it hit Thomas hard. The physical changes were of course the most shocking part at first. The mysterious event that threw the world into confusion and twisted many lives across the globe changed his gender, transforming the 25 year old guy into a petite, cute brunette that now went under the name of Tamara. To this day there was still no explanation for what caused the event, and by now many people realized that there might be just no way to reverse it, and that they had to deal with the changes and try to adjust to their new lives. Thomas still felt uncomfortable with his new body. Despite having been through the initial shock he knew he still had much more to get used to. Everything was so different from what it used to be.

Having to deal with now being a girl was hard enough, but what really made his new life often feel like a living hell were the mental changes he went through. Everyone who was hit by the Role Reverser, beside physical changes, had to undergo through at least one mental change that reversed one trait of their personality and forced them to act the opposite of what they would have normally done. That was how Thomas not only turned into a girl, but he also became completely addicted to selfies and to recognition on social networks. When he was still himself one thing he never indulged in was selfies. He often mocked those people who just couldn't go about their day without taking some photos of themselves or updating their statuses. He considered them vain and shallow individuals, and he believed that he was better than any of them for not having to depend on the recognition from strangers on the Internet to feel appeased. But now everything had changed. He now couldn't go maybe an hour of his day without feeling compelled to take a selfie. He constantly updated his Facebook with new photos or statuses, and he even created an Instagram and a Snapchat account despite having never even touched those apps before. He couldn’t even truly enjoy the things that interested him before anymore, like movies or reading, because he would feel compelled to first make a status about that, and after a while he would get distracted by his phone anyway. A huge chunk of his day was now spent among filters and hashtags, and if he tried to resist these new urges he would start to feel sick and he would soon give in to the compulsion.

But these were not the only ways in which his life got flipped by the Role Reverser. His girlfriend Lana was also a victim of the event, and the changes went through were not any less extreme than what he had to endure. Just like what happened to him, her gender was changed, turning his beloved girlfriend into his boyfriend, and the mental changes she experienced further contributed to switch their role in the relationship. Lana, now Lance, was always a quiet, shy and indecisive girl, who loved her man and always did as he said. These traits of her got completely reversed, and the once timid girl became strong, upfront and resolute, even abrupt and authoritarian at times, and now took all the decisions in the couple about where to go and what to do. As Tamara discovered she actually didn't really mind these changes. They now went out a lot more than they used to, and did many things together, which also meant more stuff to update her profiles with. The problem was that Lance often got impatient with her new fixations, especially with her constant need to take selfies together, and they often ended up arguing because of that.

Tamara had now caught up with her man. She took his hand and leaned her head on his shoulder, cuddling. Lance kissed her head tenderly, which warmed her heart and made her feel insanely happy. Despite the constant bickering she loved her new boyfriend. They helped each other adjusting to their new bodies, and they were now constructing together a new life for them. A different life for sure, but not necessarily an unhappy one. She smiled in anticipation, looking forward to the delicious meal they would soon have had of which to take pictures to post on Instagram, and to all the fun things they could do afterwards about which to make statuses on Facebook. But there was of course more than that to their days together. A lot more.

They looked at each other in the eyes. She could tell that he felt bad about their little quarrel, and knew that he would not behave like that if he wasn't compelled to do so.

They exchanged a long kiss, and her heart pounded and filled with joy. Suddenly she heard her phone ring and buzz in her purse, with that familiar sound she became so tied to. Someone just commented on the photo she updated. She grinned. Soon she would go back to nurture her virtual persona, and bask into all the praise and recognition coming from her followers. After all the Role Reverser turned her into quite the hottie, and she got pretty popular online. But for now all that could wait. Just for a while. Now she was in a place that made her truly happy.
