Not quite what she hoped for

Requested by marilin Salazar :) I made some slight changes to the story, hope it is ok :P
Betty was awkwardly looking through the pics on her phone. She still struggled with that kind of things, and wished she had physical copies of those photos to cherish and look at whenever she wanted instead of having to go through the bother of making that contraption work. Where even was that pic? Ah! There it was! She could not help but smile wholeheartedly as soon as she saw that pretty and happy girl smiling at her from the screen. That was definitely her favorite one. The first pic ever taken of her beloved granddaughter. She could not believe that a couple of months had already gone by ever since that pic was taken. By that point she had got quite used to her presence in the house, and to her smile… and yes, even to her bitching. But that pic was special. The first time she ever saw her smile. The one time she realized that from that day on she had a granddaughter, like she had always wished.

<<I’m going out grandma! Don’t wait up for me, I’ll be back only late at night most likely.>>
<<Where are you going Janet?>>
<<You know, the usual. A coffee with the girls, a bit of shopping… hanging out at the club. Don’t worry, I’ll be ok.>>
<<You are always out and never spend some time home. I miss your company.>>
<<Come on grandma, don’t be like that. I’ll be back soon enough. Gotta go now! Bye!>>
<<*Sigh* Bye!>>

Betty looked back at the phone. She had changed so much since that day, and by that point she was nothing like the person she used to be before the transformation. She recalled how frustrated she used to be with that slob of her grandson, that bum high school dropout who used to spend all his time shut in his room playing videogames and never looking for a job. He was such a disappointment, and eventually she grew tired of his attitude, and decided to take extreme measures. She had to spend a consistent part of her savings to buy the serum, but if the results were going to be those advertised it would have been totally worth it. Plus they were the money for his college, and it was not like he was going to enroll any time soon.

She was so thrilled when that fatal morning she heard that high pitched female shriek coming from his room. She rushed there trying her best to look concerned and surprised, knowing exactly what she was going to find, and yet nothing could have prepared her to the heartwarming feeling that seeing his transformed grandson would have given her. She was just perfect, with her luscious long hair, and her cute face, and her frail figure concealed by the baggy clothes. It would have been so hard to hide her joy and excitement for the following hours.

It took a while before that poor thing stopped freaking out, but to be honest she was just too cute also while doing do, with that scared expression on her pretty face. When Betty finally managed to calm her down, it was time to put her plan truly into action. It was not enough to turn her grandson into a girl. That was the easiest part. Now she had to slowly but relentlessly turn that girl into her dream granddaughter, and it was going to be a hard task. It took her days before she willingly stepped out of her room, and she would always get so mad at her every time she pretended to mistakenly call her with a female name, and god knows for how much she had to beg her before she finally convinced her to get out of the house to shop for more appropriate clothes. That was going to be the time when she would have truly started to mold her into the girl she was destined to be. After all nothing like a shopping spree can bring out your inner girl.

It was very irritating to keep her away from baggy and unisex clothes and slowly make her gravitate towards more feminine ones, and it took a while before she convinced her to finally try on a gorgeous summer dress, but as soon as she saw the look in her eyes when she found herself in front of her new reflection, Betty instantly knew that things were going well. They spent the following hours trying on outfit after outfit, and then she brought her to the hair saloon, and got her a professional makeup, and even some jewelry, and by the end of the day the transformation was complete. Not only in appearance, but also in mind. She did not have to push her to try out new clothes anymore since she had started to do it on her own basically leading the way, and even her mannerism, from the way she walked to the way she talked, now were those of a girl. Nobody would have been able to tell that that cheerful pretty girl used to be a sluggish and shabby boy just a few days ago. That moment had to be immortalized! And so she took that pic. That was probably one of the happiest day of her whole long life.

Well, during the following months Betty learned that sometimes things do not go quite as we expect them. While at first she was happy to see her new granddaughter hang out and enjoy life, soon she started to go too far. While as a guy she never would get out of the house, now that she was a girl she almost never was at home, constantly hanging out with mysterious “friends” she refused to extensively talk to her about. And then there was the shopping. While her grandson would spend a remarkable amount of money in videogames, it was nothing compared to how much she was now spending in clothes, and makeup, and jewelry. She went from one extreme to the other, and Betty was unsure whether or not things were actually that better, and even wondered whether or not she had made the right decision when she transformed her grandson.

At least now she had acquired interest in boys, while as a guy she would have never been able to get a nice girlfriend. While she hoped that she was not sleeping around with random guys, at least there was a chance that sooner or later she would have got a cute grandniece that hopefully she would have been able to educate better.
